Why are certain clothing brands particularly interesting to consumers, even when bought second-hand? Emmy’s best-selling clothing brands reveal which factors make an item of clothing desirable and increase its resale value. Take a look to see if the same criteria influence your own clothing choices!
We recently shared a post about the top-selling clothing brands on Emmy. To determine Emmy’s most popular brands, we sifted through the brands of over 200,000 products sold on Emmy and listed the results based on sales in euros. By looking at the brands at the top of the lists, we noticed similarities and trends that especially interest consumers in the second-hand market.
Quality and Durability
“The most important thing is probably that these brands make high-quality products that stay in good condition from one user to the next. That way, they have good resale value, meaning there’s demand for them even used,” says Emmy’s CEO
Juha Mattsson. Quality and durability are the cornerstones of the products sold on Emmy. We carefully inspect every item that comes in for sale, so buyers can be sure to get a quality garment and avoid surprises.
Responsibility
Responsibility is increasingly important to consumers, and it’s called for in clothing manufacturing, materials, and even disposal. Responsibility is especially emphasized in consumers’ choices for children’s clothing: people want the safest and highest-quality clothes for their own children. For example, our popular children’s brands
Papu,
Vimma,
Reima, and
Gugguu have invested in environmentally friendly and ethical production methods and materials, such as organic cotton.
Finnish Classics
Certain clothing brands and classic products stand the test of time, year after year. Finns are happy to trust domestic brands, which is reflected in Emmy’s best-selling brand,
Marimekko. In addition, Finns hunt for products from brands like
Nanso and
Andiata. Classics are increasingly interesting to the younger generation as well, and for example, Marimekko’s Tasaraita products are a major trend in today’s street fashion.
Scandinavian Fashion
The trendiness of Nordic style is evident in the list of Emmy’s most popular brands. The cornerstones of Scandinavian dressing are timelessness, minimalism, clean lines, and high-quality materials, making clothes enjoyable for a long time. Popular Scandinavian brands on Emmy include
Tiger of Sweden,
Polarn O.Pyret, and
Sand.
