Changes for Emmy sellers in July

Emmy has tripled its revenue annually, and growth will continue this year. Although our crowdfunding campaign did not gain enough popularity to be realized, we instead received the necessary funding from current and a few new owners. Emmy has tripled its turnover annually, and growth continues this year. Although our crowdfunding campaign did not gain enough popularity to be realized, we instead received the necessary funding from our current and a few new owners.

Developing our operations and building the reception and distribution chain have brought expenses, and therefore Emmy, like many other start-up companies, is still operating at a loss. At the moment, we are working to make Emmy's operations profitable.

This is why we are renewing our service starting from July 1:

1) We want to encourage our sellers to use their sales proceeds for future clothing purchases and to favor recycled items. That’s why we offer an increased benefit of 15% (normally 10%) on sales proceeds when the proceeds are paid out as an Emmy gift card. The benefit is valid until 31 December 2019.

If you want to change the payout method of your sales proceeds to an Emmy gift card, please inform our customer service. If your payout method is already an Emmy gift card, you do not need to do anything—the 15% benefit will be applied automatically.

2) We have introduced a clothing handling fee of €1.30 per item, as this allows us to cover the costs incurred from handling the clothes. This is charged only for sold items and is deducted from the sales proceeds.

The change took effect on 1 July 2019 and applies to both items already for sale and those put up for sale after this date. The sales commissions remain unchanged. You can still earn up to 80% of the sales price of your item.

If, however, you wish to stop selling due to this change, please inform Emmy customer service as soon as possible. We will return your items currently for sale to you free of charge in this case. (Applies to termination notifications made between 10–30 June. Previously deducted costs will not be refunded.)

3) Have you noticed that our sales box network is constantly expanding and we have gained new partners? The newest Emmy sales boxes are located at the Karuselli shopping center in Kerava, Willa in Hyvinkää, Revontuli in Rovaniemi, and Porvoo Sokos. Our latest partner is Gugguu. More sales boxes and partnership news are coming soon!
