Seller terms will be updated at the turn of the year

Emmy's seller terms will be updated starting from 1.1.2023. The update will especially improve the sales revenue from high-quality branded products. Check the earnings table and seller terms on Emmy's website.

The new year brings updated seller terms, which will reward sellers of high-quality branded products better than before. The seller terms will change automatically starting from 1 January 2023.

Since the founding of Emmy, our main goal has been to promote sustainable, long-lasting, and high-quality fashion and to accelerate the culture of clothing recycling. Emmy’s high-quality and Finland’s largest second-hand selection plays a significant role in this. That’s why we want to make selling high-quality products that retain their resale value even more rewarding.

The price increases caused by the current global situation have also raised the costs of transporting, storing, and handling clothes sold at Emmy. Inflation has especially affected the handling costs of lower-priced products, which has created the need to lower the seller commission for the most affordable products.

For these reasons, we are updating our seller terms starting from 1 January 2023. The update will especially improve the sales revenue from high-quality branded products.

What is changing?

  • The sales commission table is being updated. The update especially favors more valuable products and aims to guarantee the best return on the market, particularly for high-quality premium brand clothing and accessories.
  • The per-product handling fee (€1.30) will be replaced by a per-product publishing fee: adult products €1 and children’s products €0.50. The publishing fee will be charged for all products added for sale, including those that remain unsold.

What does the change mean in practice?

The changes will take effect on 1 January 2023 and will automatically apply to all products for sale and published for sale in Emmy Clothing Company’s online stores (emmy.fi, emmystore.ee, and emmystore.com) on or after 1 January. You do not need to do anything; your sales on Emmy will continue as normal.

However, if you wish to stop selling due to the update of the seller terms, please notify Emmy customer service by email by 18 December 2022. Also let us know whether you want your products currently for sale returned to you or if we should donate them to charity.

If you want to stop selling and have your products returned, your products will remain for sale as usual until 31 December 2022. After that, we will remove the products from sale and return them to you free of charge during January 2023.

If you want to stop selling but do not want your products back, your products will be donated to charity after your sales period ends on 31 December 2022.

The first sales revenues according to the new commission table for products sold in January will be paid on 28 February 2023.

Products sold during 2022 will still be settled according to the currently valid 2022 commission table:

  • Settlement for products sold in October: 30 November 2022
  • Settlement for products sold in November: 30 December 2022
  • Settlement for products sold in December: 31 January 2023

You get the best return with a gift card

You get the best return when you choose to have your sales revenue paid as an Emmy gift card. We offer a 20% bonus on sales revenue paid to an Emmy gift card: for €100 in sales revenue, we will pay €120 to your Emmy gift card.

For our partners’ gift cards, we pay a 10% bonus (see gift card partners).

You can easily choose your payout method on your customer page. The choice must be made by the 25th of the payment month to ensure the change is applied to the next payout. Changing the payout method always applies to all unpaid sales revenue and remains in effect until further notice. The bonus is calculated from the total amount of settlements for the sales month.
