On Thursday, March 18th, we celebrate International Recycling Day, known in English as Global Recycling Day. This themed day is organized by the international Global Recycling Foundation, with the aim of promoting recycling and the circular economy.
This year, the theme of Recycling Day is recycling heroes, #recyclingheros. To find everyday environmental heroes, Global Recycling Day launched a competition on its website, where followers could nominate candidates who have excelled in recycling and the use of recycled materials. Both companies and individuals were accepted into the competition.

The lifespan of a garment is extended, and the more times it is worn, the better the resources used for it—such as raw materials, water, and energy—are utilized.
During Emmy’s six years of operation, half a million well-kept garments have found a new home and been put to use again. Thanks to this, our planet’s atmosphere has been spared over 600 tons of carbon dioxide emissions, and more than 1,200 million liters of clean water have been saved for other uses.
