Do you struggle in the mornings at your wardrobe, looking for something nice to wear? The closet is completely full of clothes, but you can’t find anything? A party tonight, but nothing suitable to wear? It’s a familiar feeling, but luckily the situation is easy to fix. We’ve put together tips on how to fill your wardrobe with only treasures and keep it in tip-top shape effortlessly.

Go through all your clothes and sort them directly into piles: to use, to sell, to recycle or donate, and for textile waste. Don’t save “maybe someday” jeans or “perhaps one day” dresses to take up space—sell them and buy ones that fit instead.

Sort the clothes you keep in a way that suits you, for example by purpose, by product group, or even by color. When you have a working system, you’ll always know where to look for a specific item.

Take care of your clothes regularly. Comb lint off knits, clean leather shoes, mend seams, and reattach loose buttons. This way you ensure the resale value of your quality clothes—the better the product, the better the return.

Buy new items thoughtfully and only when needed. Remember, you can also find many brand new and like-new clothes at Emmy. Your wallet and the environment will thank you!

Wear with love and use in the right place. A silk dress is best for parties, a thick wool sweater for winter weather, and a shell jacket for forest hikes. By dressing appropriately, you not only ensure your own comfort but also help your clothes last for the next user.

So what should you do with the clothes you’ve sorted out? Clothes in good condition and up-to-date are easy to put up for sale on Emmy, since you’ve already done most of the work. Just make sure all the clothes in the pile are brands that can be sold on Emmy, washed, and clean. Then simply fill out the shipping form, pack the items for sale, and send the package to Emmy. Super easy! You’ll get a notification by email when your package arrives at Emmy and again when your items are published for sale. All you have to do is follow your sales and wait for your earnings.

Emmy Seller’s Checklist
Only send clothes and accessories intended for sale that are on the brand list, intact, clean, and washed.

You’ll get the best return from up-to-date and seasonal products from favorite brands. Send winter coats for sale in the fall and summer clothes at the end of spring.

Pack the items neatly and as compactly as possible according to your chosen delivery method, so they withstand transport.

By choosing to receive your sales proceeds as an Emmy gift card, you’ll always get the best return. We pay a +20% bonus to the Emmy gift card, +10% to our partners’ gift cards, and to a bank account according to the actual sales proceeds.

What about the rest? Items suitable for recycling or donation can be passed on, for example, to a local charity. Remember, donated clothes must absolutely be intact, clean, and usable. Broken or otherwise unusable items belong in textile waste. Did you know that all items donated or unsellable at Emmy stay in Finland? We donate unsold items directly to those in need through various changing charity projects. Broken clothes are sent for proper recycling.

So don’t stash quality brand clothes unused in your closet—sell them now and earn money!
