Emmy x WWF: Together for the Baltic Sea

WWF

Your clothes can save a piece of the Baltic Sea

By recycling through Emmy, you can now also support WWF’s work to protect the Baltic Sea and the Baltic ringed seal. Together, we can make the impact of the circular economy even greater – for nature and for future generations.

The Baltic Sea is vital to us Finns – it is part of our identity, our daily lives, and the heritage of future generations. As a domestic operator, we want to take responsibility and support the well-being of our environment. That’s why we now offer Emmy sellers the opportunity to donate their sales proceeds to WWF’s work to protect the Baltic Sea.

In Emmy’s customer surveys, responsibility and nature conservation are among the most important reasons to recycle. Every euro donated is an act to keep the Baltic Sea vibrant.

Our cooperation with WWF does not end here. This is just the beginning – we will deepen our partnership in the long term, because we believe that together we can build a more sustainable future for both people and nature.

How to donate for the benefit of the Baltic Sea and the Baltic ringed seal:

  • Select the branded items you wish to donate

- clothes, shoes, bags, and accessories
- for women, men, and children

  • Check that the item to be donated is

  • Pack the clothes carefully, e.g., in a reusable bag or box:

- mark the Emmy identifier on top of the package and number the packages 1/3, 2/3, etc.

  • Deliver your donation to Emmy in the way you choose:

- take it to the nearest Emmy sales box
- send by post: write the EMMY identifier and Helposti code on the package
- order a home pickup
- bring it to Emmy’s warehouse in Lohja

Donate right now:

It’s best to donate clothes in anticipation of the upcoming season – that way, the clothes will sell best and your donation amount will be higher, the higher the sales proceeds from the clothes.

Actions for the Baltic Sea

The Baltic Sea is one of the world’s most sensitive and polluted seas. WWF’s goal is to protect the Baltic Sea and its species, such as the Baltic ringed seal. We work to mitigate climate change, as seal pups depend on snow and ice.

The biggest threat to the Baltic Sea is eutrophication caused by agriculture and forestry. That’s why we build wetlands on fields and in commercial forests to reduce eutrophication, influence agricultural policy, and seek solutions to reduce the water load from forestry. We train and maintain oil spill response teams, who, in the event of an accident, clean oil-contaminated shores and birds. We influence EU and domestic fisheries policy to end overfishing and illegal fishing, and encourage consumers to make responsible fish choices.
